Lazy Daze Of Summer...Not Really

There is a effort, on this end, to post once a week. Sometimes that just doesn't happen. You know how it is...life interrupts living. But just in case you thought I was slacking off.....

Here is the painting painted during the South End Garden Tour last Saturday. What is remarkable about this event is that the artists are assigned a garden. Often the Day of the Tour is the first day artists will see their garden. The art is made and shown all in the passing of five hours of continuous visitor flow. It's an exciting event.
This was an exuberant garden full of the gardener's found object art. As a "Still Life" painter this garden was thoroughly delightful to paint. The painting, in oils, is 9 X 12 in and it's titled "Reminds Me of the Country".
Detail from Rebecca Jackson portrait
And that's not all...finished the portrait of Rebecca Jackson......a high school "intern" but really ..she has graduated from school and into my life as a friend.
Another commission on the easel, another lined up in July and a still life waiting to be painted in the studio. ...and so it goes.I'm not slacking off. I have even weeded the garden!
