This is a very fun show to hang. So often art, for sale, is shown  in a sterile environment; a gallery,  in a white walled studio for open studios (guilty of that one) or the blank walls of an alternate venue site such as an art association or art center. But that's not what art is about. Art is about moving into the world where people have lives and homes and other objects that they love and co-existing in that world. How do you ever know whether you can live with a piece of art? Well this show is step one...you can come and experience the art in a home environment where real people live, where the lighting is like your house and there are plants and furniture in the same room.
Step two is taking a piece to your home to try...I always encourage people to do that with my paintings.

Find out whether the art work brings a mood to the room, a visual accent, or a surprise. What part of art does a picture frame play? This is a fun show to hang because we ourselves, the artists, enjoy watching the transformation of a room through our art and we are often surprised how a room or a position or a juxtaposition transforms our art. This is my favorite way to see my art: in a home.

And if all that doesn't make you want to come out to the show I only have two words for you
"Cider Donuts". Take the trip out to Hudson, see art and then go pick Apples at nearby  Honey Pot Hill or Berlin Orchards.
